SAFETY PROTOCOL
We strive to make sure everyone's tour is as carefree, relaxing and fun as possible. In this spirit, we have decided to create an internal document that utilizes other systems of emergency protocols that do not necessarily rely on the involvement of the Chicago Police Department.
There will be certain times, being in such a public place, that things will happen that are beyond our control. In those instances, we will look for solutions that initially look to the most suitable organization for its needs.
In the event of an incident involving mental illness, we will first contact:
Community Counseling Center of Chicago
If calling 9-1-1 proves to be our only option, in cases of medical or criminal emergency, we will give our names so the responding EMT workers and police know who to engage directly at the scene.
In taking these steps, we hope to minimize confusion during a stressful time and create a space of safety for our marginalized patrons and staff in dealing with authorities.
